Finding some new adventures!

So, I've been looking into projects and challenges and adventures to try out that may be photography related. 

So far, during the month of January I've been doing the photo-a-day challenge that includes prompts from The Idea Room.  If you want to follow along with my posts, you can check out my Instagram account. 

Also decided to start Geocaching as it was recommended as a fun and exciting way to stumble upon some really great photography locations.  So this will not only be a great way to find new and beautiful locations (hopefully right near my home), but will be a fun and adventurous new hobby.  This is one my husband has even expressed that he may join in with me on occasion! 

I've always thought the Color Run was super awesome and the colors are amazing!  Then I started thinking just how great the photos of those happy faces covered in bright colors look.  Voila!  A new photo session obsession began.  Saw a post over at I Heart Faces about it and decided to see if any of my FB friends were interested in playing around with this and I already have a few interested parties!  So excited to give this a try once the weather warms up a bit. 

Hoping to start playing with some other challenges as well.  I want to get back into self-portraiture, I want to do the letter challenge (finding things all around that look like letters so I can print them out to spell my last name), also want to do a walk-about to photograph various doors (I have an obsession with cool doors). 

So, hopefully soon you'll start seeing some cool and fun new things from me!!

Trying a new adventure

I tried the 365 photography challenge a few years back and made it a few months in before I realized I couldn't keep pace with it.  I LOVED having something that challenged me to step outside my usual and forced me to pick up my camera everyday by photographing something for myself. 

Then I thought I could at least do the 52 weeks photography challenge, but that one never even got off the ground. 

So, I decided to blend the two and throw the rules out the window.  This will be a place to share all my love for photography.  I promise to share not only photographs, but stories, tutorials that I find highly instructive, other blogs that I enjoy, and miscellaneous other photography related things. 

I will for sure get things in high gear after the start of the new year, but may even start sooner than that.
